For countless children across South Australia, this Christmas will be a reminder that someone they love will not be there to share Christmas with them. Christmas Angels is there to make a difference.

A local South Australian initiative to improve the employment opportunities of youth and young adults affected by parental imprisonment was officially launched today after it was successful in obtaining federal funding.

On Sunday, 15 September, a brave group of young South Australians, supported by Second Chances SA, shared their stories of growing up as a child with a parent in prison with Patrick Abboud on Channel 10’s The Sunday Project. 

This year, Second Chances SA is excited to be one of 14 supported South Australian charities benefitting from this year’s TelethonSA Rivergum Home & Land Lottery at Seasons Mount Barker.

Since 2016, singer and retired international cricketer, Henry Olonga, has been advocating for the children and families of prisoners as Second Chances SA’s inaugural Ambassador.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of our first Victims’ Advocate, former Commissioner for Victims, Mr Michael O’Connell AM APM to this inaugral position.
