Second Chances SA is 8 Years Young.

8 Years of Restoring Hope

Thank you to all our generous donors, volunteers and partners for helping us to make an impact over the past eight years.

Since launching Second Chances SA in 2015 as an exclusively South Australian charity, we have made a difference in the lives of prisoners, their children, and families across South Australia. Through our custom-designed programs and with the help of our volunteers and staff, we have created brighter better futures by giving them a ‘Second Chance’.

Each year our GoActive Mentoring Camps for primary and high school aged young people, have enabled opportunities for mentoring, character development and building community with peers facing similar life experiences. There have been over 382 Mentoring Camp opportunities provided across the last eight years. This has resulted in several participants becoming junior Mentoring Camp leaders and volunteering to sew into the lives of their peers.

Our Birthday Stars program has provided presents to children on behalf of their imprisoned parent, reminding them they are valued and loved on their special day. Thanks to your generosity we have provided over 1,728 birthday presents since 2015.

GoActive Family Support has played a critical role for the well-being of families assisting children and families with over 2,258 home visits and over 354 school uniforms and shoe packages. This has empowered the children with confidence to succeed in school.

Our Bringing Hope in-prison volunteers have brought hope and compassion to prisoners believing for change, along with practical assistance such as banking. Over 19,487 hours have been volunteered in prisons across South Australia since 2015.

With the help of generous donors like you at Christmas each year, Christmas Angels has provided over 8,378 Christmas presents across 8 years. This has impacted thousands of families and some of the most vulnerable children across SA.

Thank you! We could not have made such an impact without the generosity of our donors.
